January 14 postgame notes

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 52-30-14 all-time against the New Jersey franchise, a record that includes a home mark of 30-11-7. The Devils have won three straight regular season games at Staples Center.

-The Kings are 1-2-2 during a season-long seven-game homestand (OTL vs NSH, L vs NYR, SOL vs WPG, W vs TOR, L vs NJD, 1/17 vs ANA, 1/19 vs CGY).

-Los Angeles fell to 7-8-3 against the Eastern Conference and 2-5-2 against the Metropolitan Division.

-The Kings haven’t been outshot over the last 20 games (8-7-5) and have averaged 33.4 shots per game over that span (668 shots / 20 GP).

-The Kings have killed off 9 of 16 power plays in January.

-Los Angeles has scored at least three goals in 11 of its last 16 games.

-Dwight King appeared in his 200th regular season game.

-Marian Gaborik has goals in three straight games and 16 points (11-5=16) in his last 13 games.

-Brayden McNabb (0-2=2) recorded his second multi-point game of the season.

-Drew Doughty (0-1=1) has points in six of the last seven games (1-6=7) and 15 points (2-13=15) in the last 16 games.

-Justin Williams has five goals (5-1=6) in the last six games.

-Anze Kopitar’s four-game assist and point streak was snapped.

-The Kings attempted 50 shots (26 on goal, 15 blocked, 9 missed). The Devils attempted 39 shots (20 on goal, 8 blocked, 11 missed).

-Los Angeles won 27-of-54 faceoffs. Among regular performers, Mike Richards won 7-of-9, Anze Kopitar won 4-of-13, Andy Andreoff won 4-of-8, Jarret Stoll won 9-of-16 and Jeff Carter won 3-of-8.

The Kings will practice at Toyota Sports Center at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15.
