December 22 postgame notes

-With the overtime loss, the Kings fell to 88-107-27 all-time against the Calgary/Atlanta franchise, a record that includes a home mark of 54-45-11. Los Angeles has lost three consecutive home games to Calgary but is 6-3-2 in the last 11 overall games between the teams.

-The Kings fell to 11-5-4 against the Western Conference and 5-1-3 against the Pacific Division.

-Los Angeles has averaged 3.1 goals per game over their last 21 games (65 G / 21 GP). They have allowed 2.8 goals per game over their last 15 games (42 GA / 15 GP).

-The Kings have a 56.9% Corsi-for rating in five-on-five play over the last 15 games (799 CF / 606 CA). The Kings haven’t been outshot over the last 11 games (5-4-2) and have averaged 36.1 shots per game over that span (397 shots / 11 GP). Opposing goalies have posted a .919 save percentage over that span (365 saves / 397 shots).

-Marian Gaborik has extended his goal streak to five games (7-2=9), tying the second longest streak in the league this season (Dallas / Jamie Benn / October 14-24 / 5-5=10). This is Gaborik’s longest streak since, Dec. 17-26, 2011 (7-0=7 / w/ New York Rangers) and the longest streak by a King since Justin Williams had a five-game streak, Mar. 28-Apr. 4, 2013 (6-0=6).

-With his sixth goal of the season, Trevor Lewis has tied his career-high in goals (2013-14) and has scored goals in consecutive games (2-0=2) for the third time in his career (last: March 9-10, 2013 / 2-1=3).

-Anze Kopitar has 10 points (1-9=10) over his four-game assist streak.

-Johnny Gaudreau recorded the second hat trick against the Kings over the past four games (last: Vladimir Tarasenko / December 16, 2014 / 2-5 L @ St. Louis).

-Los Angeles has power play goals in four straight games, going 8-for-19 over that span. The four straight games with a power play goal ties the longest streak of the season.

-The Kings fell to 13-1-4 when scoring the game’s first goal.

-Jamie McBain (1-2=3) has points in two straight games.

-By presiding over his 656th game, Dean Lombardi surpassed Dave Taylor (656) for the second most games served as the Kings General Manager.

-TJ Brodie blocked a game-high eight shots.

-Los Angeles attempted 78 shots (34 on goal, 25 blocked, 19 missed). Calgary attempted 60 shots (28 on goal, 20 blocked, 12 missed). Johnny Gaudreau led all skaters with seven shots on goal.

The Kings are on Christmas break and do not have a scheduled practice between now and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27.
