December 18 postgame notes

-With the win, the Kings improved to 73-96-24 all-time against the Blues, a record that includes a home mark of 47-36-13. Los Angeles improved to 18-5-0 in the last 23 regular season and playoff games against St. Louis and has won a franchise-best six straight regular season home games against their Central Division rivals. Including playoff games, the Kings have beaten the Blues 11 straight times at Staples Center, dating back to March 17, 2011. Los Angeles (2-1-0) won the season series against St. Louis for the fourth consecutive season.

-The Kings improved to 10-5-3 against the Western Conference and 6-4-1 against the Central Division.

-With five points, Anze Kopitar (1-4=5) set a career high in points in a single game and tied his career-high in assists (second time; last: December 6, 2007 vs Buffalo). He has six points (1-5=6) in the last two games.

– Jeff Carter (1-3=4) tied his career-high in assists and points (second time for assists and fifth time for points; last: October 26, 2014 vs Columbus, 1-3=4) and registered his team-leading seventh multi-point game of the season. He now has four points (1-4=5) in the last two games.

-Los Angeles has averaged 3.05 goals per game over their last 19 games (58 G / 19 GP). The Kings have allowed 2.77 goals per game over their last 13 games (36 GA / 13 GP). Their opponents have scored at least three goals in five straight games.

-Los Angeles has a 56.8% Corsi-for rating in five-on-five play over the last 14 games (685 CF / 521 CA). The Kings haven’t been outshot over the last nine games (4-4-1) and have averaged 36.4 shots per game over that span (328 shots / 9 GP). Opposing goalies have posted a .929 save percentage over that span (303 saves / 326 shots.

-Los Angeles is 14-for-23 on the penalty kill over the last seven games.

-The last time the Kings rallied from a three-goal deficit to win a game was March 5, 2013 vs St. Louis (down 4-1, won 6-4).

-The Kings’ six goals tied a season high (October 14 vs Edmonton, 6-1).

– With his first period goal, Marian Gaborik (2-1=3) extended his goal streak to three games (5-1=6). That is tied for the longest goal streak by a King this season (Carter and Pearson, October 11-14) and is Gaborik’s longest streak since October 20-25, 2013 (with Columbus). The last two games represent the first time since December 17-20, 2011 (with New York Rangers) that he has recorded two-or-more goals in consecutive games.

-Jeff Carter’s goal ended a 13-game goal drought. He last scored in a 5-2 win over Florida on November 18.

-Trevor Lewis played in his 300th NHL game, while Kyle Clifford played in his 299th NHL game.

-Drew Doughty (0-1=1) has assists in two straight games (0-2=2) and six points (1-5=6) in the last five games.

-Jake Muzzin (1-0=1) recorded his second game-winning goal. He has five points (2-3=5) in the last five games.

The Kings are scheduled to practice at Toyota Sports Center at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 19.
