November 18 morning skate notes

-Good morning from a quiet Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo. The Kings, fresh off a win over Anaheim on Saturday, a recovery day on Sunday, and a full practice on Monday, held an optional morning skate in advance of Tuesday’s game against Florida. Jeff Carter, Anze Kopitar, Mike Richards, Drew Doughty and Jonathan Quick were among those who remained off the ice, so no line rushes were held.

-Because Andy Andreoff, Jordan Nolan and Martin Jones remained on the ice for extra work, expect Jonathan Quick to start and Dwight King to re-enter the lineup in replace of Nolan. I’ll project the lines the team used during yesterday’s practice when I write today’s game preview, but because no rushes were held this morning, the Level of confidence in projected lines won’t be an A.

-There’s lots to come on a busy Tuesday. Before he spent ample time praising the Florida Panthers, saying, “they’re not flying under the radar. Everybody in the league knows about ’em,” Darryl Sutter opined on the dry scrape and the way the players use stoppages in play to remain loose. Obviously, this will be a must-read.

-I’ll also share an interview with Florida assistant coach Mark Morris, who won 338 games as Manchester’s head coach between 2006-14 and assisted in the development of Los Angeles’ homegrown talent.

-Marian Gaborik will join Alex Curry on the bench during Kings Live pre-game coverage.
