November 15 postgame quotes: Anaheim

Ryan Kesler, on whether they are happy to continue their point streak:
We want to get points, but we don’t go into games hoping we get one. We want two, just unlucky breaks tonight. It’s going to happen over 82. I thought we battled hard, we competed. I thought they had a push in the first period and we absorbed it and pushed back. I thought we played well, but obviously not well enough to win.

Kesler, on the penalties called against Ryan Getzlaf and Hampus Lindholm:
It’s a tough question. I don’t want to get fined. So you guys saw it. You saw what went on out there.

Kesler, on Los Angeles’ power play goals:
Their second goal, it’s a good play. Good players make good plays. I thought we could have had a little better sticks, but they made a good play on that one. The second power play goal was a fluke. You don’t see many of those go in.

Frederik Andersen, on Jarret Stoll’s game-winning goal:
I think he tried to go to the front and then it hit something and squeezed through my legs I guess. Bad bounce, unfortunate we couldn’t get it done.

Ryan Getzlaf, on the game:
It’s two good teams playing head-to-head. I wish it didn’t have to go like that, but sometimes it does.

Getzlaf, on his goaltender interference penalty in the third period:
I got hit into him I felt. I was going to the net. I’ve never, ever been a guy that’s been called for goalie interference on a nothing play. It’s one of those things. The referee acts, he sees him go down. It’s a tough call. It is what it is. [Reporter: Did you feel the contact with Jonathan Quick?] Oh, I ran into him. I wasn’t arguing that I didn’t touch him. I don’t think Quick put on a show. I’m not saying that. I’m just saying when you’re going to the net and a guy twists you up and turns you and the puck is going the other way, it didn’t have any effect on the play whatsoever. That’s when it gets frustrating for me. It’s a tough one and at the same time we have to kill those and do things better to give ourselves a better chance to win.

Getzlaf, on Hampus Lindholm’s hooking penalty in overtime:
Again, it’s one of those things. Hampus, did he have his stick up there? Yeah. Did Kopitar loose his edge? Yeah. I mean you saw him checking his skate after. It’s a tough call. It’s one of those things that sometimes they go your way and sometimes they don’t. Tonight it didn’t.

Getzlaf, on Tyler Toffoli’s shorthanded goal:
It’s one of those things where I’m caught in between. I’m hoping instead of playing the game the way I should. I thought that Matty [Beleskey] was going to be able to a play and I got caught flatfooted. For every one that goes against you, you get a few that stay. That’s on me.

Bruce Boudreau, on whether he was frustrated after the penalties called against his team:
Yeah, they’re tough calls. We were talking in between the second and the third, we knew we were going to get a penalty. But I thought they were pretty iffy calls.

Boudreau, on Ryan Getzlaf’s and Hampus Lindholm’s penalties:
It’s a tough call for the guy in the middle of the ice to make that call. But you know what? It’s a tough job for them. I’m looking at it on slow motion and everything else and saying ‘OK, it’s not a penalty.’ But they’re doing it in fast time. It’s a tough thing but, we got the wrong end of it tonight.

Boudreau, on whether he is pleased with his team’s performance:
Yeah, I think so. I thought we played them… well shots. They had more shots, but we had better scoring chances. Five-on-five, I thought we outplayed them. But what are you going to do? That happens and we’ll just reload and come back next game.

Boudreau, on whether he is concerned about Corey Perry’s lack of practices with the team:
What he can do, practice isn’t going to help. He knows how to score. He’s pretty good at it.
