Anze Kopitar, on giving up a two goal lead in the third period:
We put ourselves in the position, going into the third, where we’re one goal up and I think that was pretty much the only positive thing we could take out of the first two periods. We weren’t on it. We gave up too many chances. Quickie had us in there. In the third, being up 5-3, we’ve got to close the games out. We obviously didn’t do that tonight. We’ve got to improve on it and play better.
Kopitar, on Jonathan Quick facing 49 shots:
He kept us in it for the whole game really. We gave him five goals, but we gave up way too much stuff around our net and on the rush. We definitely have to look at that and get better at it in a hurry.
Kopitar, on giving up more shots against this season:
It’s a variety of things. It’s not supporting the puck coming up the ice. Turning pucks over in places where you really can’t do it. We’re getting rushes against. It’s not what we want to do.
Matt Greene, on the loss:
I thought we let them back in the game and they capitalized and that’s it. It’s a bad game by us. It shouldn’t have been that close.
Greene, on Jonathan Quick facing 49 shots:
That’s not our game. Getting hemmed in like that, that’s not what we want to do. We want to establish our gameplan. We’ve had trouble doing it this year, especially on the road and that was again tonight. Without Quickie, it’s a way worse game.
