October 26 postgame quotes: Toffoli, King

Tyler Toffoli, on whether he is playing best stretch of hockey as a professional:
I felt, obviously there were stretches when I was in Manchester, but the beginning of this year feels really good. I just have to stay focused and keep working hard and keep trying to get better every day.

Toffoli, on the offense being generated by his line with Jeff Carter and Tanner Pearson:
I think we’re playing good as a group. We’re rolling our lines. Some of the goals we’re scoring, the other team is tired and we’re coming off the rush and we’re getting good chances and bearing down. So we just have to keep playing hard and keep staying focused and keep going.

Toffoli, on his lob pass to set up Tanner Pearson’s first goal of the game:
I just knew that they were going to be coming hard and I think we were out there for a little while, so I was kind of tired. I just kind of flipped it out and obviously Tanner can skate and he got there and it was a great shot.

Toffoli, on whether Columbus’ physical play helped to get him into the game:
We knew that they are a very good team and we knew that we had to be ready. I don’t think we played our best hockey the first two periods. But I think the third period came and we really stepped up our game and played our best hockey.

Toffoli, on whether his role on the team changes if Anze Kopitar is out with an injury:
We don’t want Kopi to be hurt, so let’s hope he’s fine.

Toffoli, on Nick Foligno’s injury:
I didn’t really see it. Obviously when he’s down like that, you don’t know what’s wrong. Hopefully he’s OK and he can be back soon.

Dwight King, on playing against Columbus’ physical style:
I think everybody prepared themselves for that style of game. The last couple of years, they’ve built some character in their group and we’ve watched them play and played against them. We knew what they were going to bring. I kind of think it’s more like a playoff atmosphere, the style of game they play, the physical battles. Guys came in prepared for that.

King, on his goal:
I can say I didn’t even look. I was originally going to bat it out of the air and I didn’t want to hit the guy. So once it dropped, I shot it as quick as I could.

King, on handling a delay in the game:
Keep it simple. Kind of like the start of the game where you get pucks in, you don’t try too many passes. It might have hurt them a little more than it hurt us obviously. That’s a big player for their club. It was the difference in the game.

King, on whether all the players on the ice were affected by Nick Foligno’s injury:
Yeah, you don’t want to see anybody get hurt. It looks serious when you first are going to it, so you just hope for his health.

King, on what he saw on the play when Anze Kopitar left with an injury:
I think he did it on the power play to be honest. I didn’t notice right away, but he’s walking around here. He seems to be Kops. So that’s good.

King, on whether they are concerned about injuries:
It is a long season. Injuries are part of the game. Obviously when it’s a key player like [Kopitar], it’s a little tough to replace. But I think guys in this room know what it takes to win and that’s the biggest thing you work on throughout a season.
