October 19 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 23-15-3 all-time against Minnesota, a record that includes a 12-8-6 home record. Seven of the last eight games by the teams have been decided by one goal.

-The Kings improved to 4-0-0 in their six-game homestand (10/12 LAK 4, WPG 1; 10/14 LAK 6, EDM 1; 10/16 LAK 1 STL 0 (SO); 10/19 LAK 2, MIN 1; 10/23 BUF; 10/26 CBJ). After today, they will play six consecutive games against the Eastern Conference.

-Los Angeles has won four straight games and is on a five-game point streak.

-The Kings have killed 15 penalties in a row since Oliver Ekman-Larsson’s overtime game-winner at Arizona on October 11.

-Los Angeles has been out-shot 84-34 and out-attempted 144-80 over the last two games, both wins.

-Over their four-game winning streak, Kings goalies have stopped 143 of 146 shots for a .979 save percentage. Jonathan Quick has stopped 114 of 116 shots over his last three games.

-Los Angeles improved to 8-7-1 in afternoon games under Darryl Sutter.

-The line of Jeff Carter, Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli has combined for 20 points (11-9=20) and a plus-25 rating over the last five games. They have accounted for 11 of the team’s 14 goals this season (and 12 of 15, if Carter’s shootout game-winner on Wednesday is counted).

-Tyler Toffoli recorded his third multi-point game of the season and has seven points (3-4=7) in the last four games.

-With his fifth goal and seventh point of the season, it took Tanner Pearson six games to reach the production (3-4=7) he recorded in 25 games last season.

-With 98 points (62-36=98) since his trade to Los Angeles, Carter is two points shy of 100 with the Kings.

-Drew Doughty, Justin Williams, Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli tied with a team-high two shots on goal.

-Zach Parise finished with a game-high six shots on goal and nine attempted shots.

-Anze Kopitar finished with a game-high six hits.

-Dustin Brown’s 20:05 of ice time was his highest total since recording 21:59 in a 2-1 overtime loss to New Jersey on November 21.

-Los Angeles attempted 31 shots (16 on goal, 7 blocked, 8 missed). Minnesota attempted70 shots (41 on goal, 12 blocked, 17 missed).

-The Kings won 37-of-65 faceoffs (57%). Among regular performers, Mike Richards won 2-of-3, Anze Kopitar won 11-of-21, Andy Andreoff won 1-of-1, Jarret Stoll won 11-of-21, and Jeff Carter won 11-of-18.

Monday, October 20 is an off-day for the Kings. The next practice will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Toyota Sports Center on Tuesday, October 21.
