October 16 postgame notes

-With the win, the Kings improved to 72-95-24 all-time against the Blues, a record that includes a home mark of 46-36-13. Los Angeles is 17-4-0 in the teams’ last 21 regular season and playoff meetings and has won five straight at Staples Center against St. Louis.

-The Kings are 3-0-0 in their six-game homestand (10/12 LAK 4, WPG 1; 10/14 LAK 6, EDM 1; 10/16 LAK 1 STL 0 (SHO); 10/19 MIN; 10/23 BUF; 10/26 CBJ).

-Jonathan Quick recorded his 32nd career shutout, tying Rogie Vachon for first place on the club’s all-time list.

-Quick recorded his 37th career shootout win. He has stopped 146-of-209 shootout attempts (.699).

-The last time the Kings were out-shot by as many as 25 shots was on December 13, 2010, when Detroit out-shot L.A. 51-26 at Joe Louis Arena. Quick posted a 51-save shutout in the Kings’ 5-0 win.

-Tanner Pearson and Jeff Carter’s three-game goal streaks and Tyler Toffoli’s three-game point streaks were snapped.

-The Kings have killed nine consecutive penalties spanning three games.

-With a 0-for-4 performance, the Kings are 1-for-15 on the power play this season.

-Jeff Carter recorded the fourth shootout game-winner of his career. He has scored on 12-of-42 career attempts (28.6%).

-Los Angeles attempted 49 shots (18 on goal, 12 blocked, 19 missed). St. Louis attempted 74 shots (43 on goal, 18 blocked, 13 missed).

-The Kings won 33-of-74 faceoffs (45%). Among regular performers, Mike Richards won 2-of-7, Anze Kopitar won 11-of-23, Andy Andreoff won 1-of-3, Jarret Stoll won 11-of-22, and Jeff Carter won 7-of-18.

The Kings have a day off on Friday, October 17. Their next practice will be at Toyota Sports Center at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18.
