Andreoff on his first game (and fight); Quick on the win

Andy Andreoff, on his training camp:
Yeah, I was just keeping it simple out there, playing my role and trying to get better.

Andreoff, on his development:
Well, it’s just all about the more games I play, and the better confidence I’ll get and the better plays I’ll be making. I was just happy to get the first one out here, and hopefully as the games go on, I’ll get a little more confidence.

Andreoff, on whether he hit a comfort level during the game:
You know what? It helped a lot in the preseason games, the couple games I got into. I got my confidence down there, and once I got the fight over with today, I felt [better]. And a couple shifts there, the pace, I was getting comfortable with, so it was getting better.

Andreoff, on whether he spoke with Matt Hendricks prior to the fight:
No, not really. The play was going, and I tapped him, and he just looked at me and dropped the gloves. I said thank you after because I don’t know if he wants to fight a younger guy, but it was good.

Andreoff, on whether he anticipated fighting in his first game:
I don’t know. It was just the way it goes. We were on the forecheck there and he was right beside me, so I just tapped him, and it happened. [Reporter: It helped to get the nerves out?] Oh, absolutely. After that fight I felt like it had been a couple games.

Andreoff, on whether he felt more comfortable after two years in the AHL:
I guess playing a couple years in the minor leagues there helped a lot. The development team’s been down there helping me out a lot and just making sure I’m ready for this chance. They’re saying you might only get one chance, so you’ve just got to be ready for it, and they’ve helped me out a lot with that.

Jonathan Quick, on the team’s effort:
Yeah it’s a win, anytime you can do that, it’s something you can build off of. We were able to do that, and we’ve got one here in a couple of days, so we gotta get ready for that one.

Quick, on Tyler Toffoli’s shorthanded goal:
Yeah it’s a good shot. I think it was kind of rolling a little bit, which makes it tough for the goalie to read it, and he put it in a really difficult spot, so yeah it’s a good shot.

Quick, on watching the Pearson-Toffoli-Carter line:
That’s one of our lines that we need to produce and they’ve been doing that, they’re playing really well. They need to keep it going for us in order to keep giving us a chance to win.

Quick, on whether the team took another step with tonight’s win:
It’s a win, so we’ll move on from there. I know every game you go out there, you’re not looking to take a step, you’re looking to win a hockey game, and then you go from there.

Quick, on what stood out on the team’s performance:
A good, hard-fought win. We got up early and we didn’t take our foot off of the pedal, we kept going. They’ve got a good team over there, they kept fighting too even though they were down by a good amount. Tip your cap to them for that, but we didn’t take our foot off the pedal, we kept playing.
