October 11 postgame quotes: Darryl Sutter

On the 3-2 overtime loss to Arizona:
It was a good hockey game. We took advantage of opportunities in the first period, first part of the period, and they score the power play goal late to make it two-one. The second period, I thought they came on. The third period, it was kind of back-and-forth.

On whether Devan Dubnyk’s saves on Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli to preserve a 2-0 lead represented the key turning point:
Not really. I think the failure to clear the puck on the power play in the last 30 seconds when we win the draw is probably the difference of two-nothing or two-one going into the second.

On ways to return to being the dominant possession team that they traditionally have been:
We’ve only played two games, so I wouldn’t put into much into history. I’d put it into now.

On whether it was “important” that they got a point:
Yeah, it’s important that we played better than we did last game, so it’s important that we continue to take those little steps.

On whether it was “important” that Jonathan Quick had a bounce back performance:
I’m not too worried about the importance of Jonathan Quick bouncing back ever. That’s something that we know about him

On Anze Kopitar:
He’s finding his game. The line itself, we’ve switched right wingers around there for two games now, so just continue to work at it. Obviously Kopi’s guys can play a lot, and do play a lot, and he’s an important player on our team, and he can play better and he will play better.

On Devan Dubnyk:
Well, we didn’t know probably ‘til late afternoon that Devan was playing. He made the saves he had to. As Jon alluded to, he made some big saves for ‘em.
