Upper body injury keeps Doughty out

Drew Doughty suffered an upper-body injury during off-season training and is being held off the ice at the start of training camp.

According to a source in hockey operations, the injury occurred a “few weeks ago” and the timetable for his return is “not known” at this point.

There was also news that Jarret Stoll would be held out of the first day of camp, but he took the ice with Group A. Stoll, who had off-season hip surgery, centered Kyle Clifford and Trevor Lewis during his first line rush.

Last year, Dustin Brown suffered a hamstring injury on the first day of training camp and did not get into a game until the season opener in Minnesota.
