Jonathan Quick is expected to be “full go” near the end of camp, according to Kings hockey operations.
As reported by Puck Daddy, Quick suffered a wrist injury during the team’s Stanley Cup run and needed surgery, which took place on June 24. It was originally expected that the recovery time from surgery would take 10-12 weeks; that expectation would place his expected window of recovery between September 2 and 16.
Quick will be “limited” in what he’ll be able to participate in at the outset of training camp, according to hockey operations. Veterans are expected to take the ice for the first time at training camp on Friday, September 19.
The 2012 Conn Smythe Trophy winner was 27-17-4 with six shutouts, a 2.07 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage in 2013-14. He is entering the second year of a 10-year, 58-million dollar contract.
UPDATE, 1:15 p.m.: The club has identified “the last couple games” of the preseason as a time when Quick could potentially return to game action.
