Abbreviated camp schedule outline

I’ve received a few requests for the Kings’ rookie camp and training camp schedule, and while I don’t have the full schedule for both, here’s a brief outline of what to expect once on-ice practices commence.

As reported last week, most of the Kings’ main training camp will take place at STAPLES Center. The only days in which the Kings will hold main training camp at Toyota Sports Center will be on Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20. Traditionally, the training camp rosters have been broken into two groups, with one group skating in the morning and one group skating in the afternoon. When camp moves to Staples Center, it will not be open to the public.

As of now, rookie camp is expected to open with on-ice practices on Friday, September 12. The Kings will travel to Glendale, Arizona to face Coyotes rookies at the soon-to-be-renamed Gila River Arena on September 16 (6 pm) and 17 (2 pm). LA Kings Insider will have regular reports from Glendale over the two days.

More details regarding on-ice sessions will be posted on LA Kings Insider and LAKings.com as they become available over the next week. As always, dates and times are subject to change.
