Report: Wrist surgery for Quick; 10-12 week recovery

Jonathan Quick suffered a wrist injury during the Kings’ second round series against the Anaheim Ducks and is expected to be sidelined for 10-12 weeks, Greg Wyshynski of Puck Daddy reported on Tuesday.

From Puck Daddy:

Quick. 28, was scheduled to appear on the ice at the goalie camp that bears his name at Stamford Twin Rinks in Connecticut, which is owned by his father-in-law. An email sent to parents who enrolled their children in the summer camp explained that Quick was having “emergency surgery” on a wrist injury. The Kings later said the surgery wasn’t an emergency procedure.

The surgery took place on Tuesday. Based on a 10-12 week recovery prognosis, Quick would be expected to return within a window between September 2 and 16. Los Angeles opens the preseason with split squad games against Arizona on September 22.
