The Kings have announced their preseason schedule, which will include a trip to Colorado Springs to take on the Avalanche on October 2 as part of a two-game road trip that will culminate with the preseason finale against Colorado at MGM Grand Garden Arena on October 4 for Frozen Fury 16.
Los Angeles will also take part in a pair of split-squad games against the re-branded Arizona Coyotes on September 22. The Coyotes’ name change becomes official at next week’s NHL Draft.

With the exception of 2012-13, which did not have a preseason, the Los Angeles has played two games against Colorado, Phoenix and Anaheim each preseason since 2008. The September 30 game will mark the first preseason game against San Jose since a 2-1 Sharks shootout win at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario on September 17, 2009.

The NHL will release its full 2014-15 schedule at 1:00 p.m. PT on Sunday. Teams are expected to announce their home openers on Saturday.
