June 9 postgame quotes: Dustin Brown

On whether the difference in shot totals was because of New York pressing:
Shots can be deceiving. I don’t know what they outshot us by, but they had four power plays or five power plays in the second and two or three in the third. As a result, our PK was awesome and we gave up shots and that’s why we have a goaltender. But it’s one of those things when you’re on the PK for as long as we are, they’re going to get shots. Again, Quickie was Quickie.

On Matt Greene blocking shots on the penalty kill:
That’s what Greener is all about I think. I thought he and Mitchie, especially on the PK, were awesome tonight for us not only in the blocking the shots, but the low battles and winning puck battles below the goal line against their big forwards. That allowed us to clear the puck and give us a breather. Again, our PK was awesome. It’s an extension of our five-on-five.

On the state of the team being up 3-0 in the series:
We’ve been in this position before. Confidence, that’s a part of it but it’s more about your will this time of year. Again, it’s resetting and reloading. I know that gets boring for you guys, but that’s the truth.

On whether Jonathan Quick’s performance was comparable to his play in the 2012 playoffs:
It’s hard to go through all the games, but I thought he was awesome either way. Everyone is talking about Quickie and he’s a big, big part of the reason why we’re here because he’s a goaltender that makes big saves at big times. At the end of the day, we played tonight is an extension of him coming out.
