Quick leaves practice after high shot; issue downplayed

Jonathan Quick left practice after a Kyle Clifford shot caught him up high:

I spoke with two people within the organization about the injury. Both downplayed the incident, with one telling me that he’s “fine”. Quick had a sense of humor about the issue, saying that the shot caught him “somewhere between my head and my knees.”

Darryl Sutter did not sound particularly concerned, though his use of the word “probably” doesn’t completely diffuse all alarms.

“Jonathan is a tough guy. He’s probably the first guy out of the room,” he said.

Here’s your reminder that this is the Stanley Cup Final and injury information will not be gratuitously divulged. But because Quick did speak to reporters after the team’s practice, and because those asked about a potential issue downplayed its severity, it’s a guardedly optimistic indicator that there’s really nothing to see here.
