Game 7 sets NBCSN viewership records

The Kings’ thrilling Game 7 victory over the Blackhawks was followed closely in both the Los Angeles and Chicago markets and across the country. By producing a 3.17 overnight rating, it became the most-watched NHL game ever broadcast on OLN, Versus or NBCSN since a broadcast agreement was reached with Comcast in advance of the 2005-06 season. It’s a significant achievement considering Stanley Cup Final games have been broadcast on NBCSN in the past – and Games 3 and 4 in the upcoming series will be broadcast by NBCSN.

Top five Game 7 markets:

1) Chicago 22.7
2) Buffalo 7.3
3) Los Angeles 4.8
4) Minneapolis-St. Paul 4.3
5) Boston 3.9

New York drew a 3.7 rating last night.

And, because it is tangentially related, here is a skating Swedish sideline reporter. Perhaps if more interviews were conducted on skates, these ratings would be even higher. The interview is followed by a remarkable Anze Kopitar goal for Mora IK.
