On his debut with the team:
It was exciting. A rivalry that I’m sure a lot of people wanted to see and I think the best part was coming away with a victory.
On his previous call ups through the season giving him some familiarity with the team:
Yeah, I think just being around the guys made me real comfortable this morning and before the game. Even the coaches, just go out there and play how you know how to play.
On the similarities of the systems in Los Angeles and Manchester:
Yeah, it’s the exact same system. So I’m very familiar with it throughout the year. I didn’t have to change anything.
On any nerves he may have had heading into the game:
Yeah, there were some nerves this afternoon coming to the rink. But I just kind of went through my normal game time routine. I got through warm-ups and tried to limit my shift lengths so I could get in the game.
On his performance:
It was a good team win. No individuals out here. Everybody played well, everybody played the systems well and Quickie was strong.
On being paired with Slava Voynov:
Again, knowing the systems I think really helped in being comfortable out there.
On the crowd:
It was great. They made us feel like it was a little more of a home game. I can’t wait to play a game at Staples Center now.
On getting to play his first game at Staples Center as a King on Wednesday:
I’ve watched it on TV and I haven’t played there in a few years, but I’m excited to get out there.
On his communication with Slava Voynov:
Just kind of simple, try to get back for one another. Either right, up or over and just try to make it as easy and simple as it could be for us.
