May 2 practice quotes: Anze Kopitar

Anze Kopitar, on which team benefits more from the lack of travel:
I think it’s going to be an advantage for the team that moves on, to not have to travel one series and be at home and sleep in your own bed. Like I said before, in regards to the game itself, we’re still going to do the same routine, the same pre-game schedule as we had on the road every time. It’s not going to change.

Kopitar, on having a chance to watch Anaheim in their series against Dallas:
Bits and pieces really, I don’t think I watched a full game. I did watch their Game 6, the last game in Dallas. It was a pretty epic finish.

Kopitar, on slowing down Anaheim’s offense:
They have a good power play. So first of all, staying disciplined and not taking any unnecessary penalties. Then you have to contain them. They have some pretty big bodies. You have to eliminate time and space. I don’t think there is anything new to it. You’re trying to do that in every game anyways, so it’s not going to change a whole lot.

Kopitar, on Anaheim’s offensive depth:
They have some depth and they had some 20-goal scorers on their team and the high teens too. You have to pay attention right down to the fourth line. I don’t know if they have a significant fourth line or not, you just have to pay attention to everybody.

Kopitar, on the special teams play in Game 7:
We feel like we took too many penalties and gave them too many opportunities. For our PK to come big in a game like that was a nice confidence boost, but now we have to build on it. We’re going to face a good power play. Again, it all starts with not taking too many penalties. Play with an edge, obviously, but within the rules.
