Good morning, San Jose

If there was ever a need for the Kings to win Game 5, it is this: Do you really want to go out with these terrible photos?

Look at that! There’s no depiction of the hustle and energy of city life or sweeping views of the Santa Cruz Mountains. There aren’t even any Munter’s units visible. I will not stand for this, San Jose. LAKI requests vehemently demands a 10th floor corner suite upon our next visit.

It’s much chillier in the Bay Area this weekend than it was last weekend, and intermittent rain showers greeted the team on Friday afternoon. I was also shocked to read this:

I’ve been going to Dodger games since 1986 or so and I’ve experienced rain inside the stadium on two occasions that I can remember. It happened during a Dodgers-Expos afternoon game in the early 1990’s, and on Eric Gagne Bobblehead Night on May 4, 2003. I remember seeing the evening game of a day-night doubleheader necessitated by a rainout, but I can recall being in Dodger Stadium while rain actually fell twice out of hundreds of visits.

Back to hockey. This seems to be circulating on Twitter this morning:

Blues

Which maligned Blackhawks forward scores the game-winning goal on a shot from inside the blue line with two-tenths of a second remaining in Game 6? Kris Versteeg, I’m looking in your direction.

It’s a normal game-day schedule for the Kings. They’ll take the ice at the SAP Center at 11:30 in advance of tonight’s 7:00 p.m. puck drop. Tonight’s game will be broadcast on FOX Sports West locally and CNBC for those out of the area. As always, Nick and Darryl will have the call on KEIB AM 1150 and on I Heart Radio. Lots more to come in advance of Game 5…
