April 19 practice quotes: Darryl Sutter

On whether an extra day between Game 1 and Game 2 is beneficial:
Yeah, it’s good. [Reporter: Do you get a reset coming home a little bit, too? You did that last year, too, when you had the extra day.] I don’t think last year’s got anything to do with this year.

On his evaluation of Drew Doughty’s first game back:
Good. [Reporter: Anything that stood out in the way he played? Or just normal Drew?] He was fine.

On what Mike Richards needs to do to “get going”:
I don’t think it’s one player. I think Mike was good last game. It’s not about one player. We liked our team last game. We didn’t like the first goal, and we didn’t like the last minute of the first period. That’s what I said after the game and what I said yesterday. I didn’t have a problem with the way we played as individuals. You just finished watching [the first period of Blues-Blackhawks]. You’d think you’d just seen the difference in the hockey game. A team just scored in the last minute. You were just bouncing up and down there because a team scored in the last second. It doesn’t matter if it’s preseason, regular season, or now when we’re taking up peoples’ time, you score two goals in the last minute of a period, you usually get beat. It’s not about Drew Doughty or Mike Richards.
