April 15 practice quotes: Dustin Brown

On the team’s success after the Olympics:
I think we just got back to playing our game. The puck possession, we talk about puck possession, is a staple of our game. But I think more importantly our forecheck and getting the puck back provides us an opportunity to hang onto puck and create offense. I think our D-game has been pretty solid at home.

On being excited for the playoffs:
I think we’re at that point as a group, as a team, where this is the time of year we want to be playing. The regular season is part of the process, but this is when we get excited as a group.

On focusing on San Jose’s game or their own game:
It’s probably a bit of both. Obviously we have to be aware of what they do really well. At the same time, we have to bring our game, bring our A-game and do what we do best.

On home ice advantage in the history of the series with San Jose:
I think that has probably been the case over the last two or three years. They have one of the top home records in the league I believe. We’re going to have to find a way to win at least one up there. Our focus right now is game one and trying to find a way to win it.

On the benefits of the practice:
I think it was good to get a skate in, especially having two days off the ice, to get the feet under us and get going. Then tomorrow, we’re going to do some video here and figure out what we need to do. It’s just part of the process. We’ve all been through this before.
