April 10 postgame notes

-Los Angeles improved to 72-79-38 all-time against Edmonton, a record that includes an away mark of 35-43-17. The Kings are 15-1-4 in their last 20 meetings with the Oilers, dating back to April 7, 2009. They are 10-0-2 in their last 12 games at Rexall Arena, dating back to February 28, 2008.

-Los Angeles won all games in the season series with Edmonton for the first time since 2010-11 and the second time in team history.

-The Kings outshot the Oilers 186-86 in the season series.

-By winning their 46th game, the Kings tied the franchise’s all-time wins record. The 1990-91, 2009-10 and 2010-11 teams finished with 46 wins, while the 2012-13 club was on pace for 46 wins in the lockout shortened season. Should Los Angeles claim at least one point from Saturday’s game, it will hit the 100-point plateau for the fourth time in club history.

-Anze Kopitar recorded his ninth game-winning goal to tie the club record set by both Marcel Dionne and Charlie Simmer in 1980-81.

-Los Angeles and Boston are in a battle for the Jennings Trophy, awarded to any goaltender who plays a minimum of 25 games on the team that allows the fewest goals in the league. With a home game against Anaheim remaining, the Kings have allowed 170 goals. With a home game against Buffalo and a road game at New Jersey remaining, the Bruins have allowed 173 goals.

-The Kings set a record for fewest non-shootout goals allowed on the road with 85. The previous record was 92.

-The Kings record for fewest non-shootout goals allowed in a season is 170, set in 2011-12. The Kings have allowed 165 non-shootout goals through 81 games.

-The Kings posted their franchise record 13th shutout of 2013-14 (Quick – 6, Jones – 4, Scrivens – 3). Two of Martin Jones’ four shutouts came against Edmonton.

-Los Angeles is 2-2-1 in a six-game stretch in which they face all Pacific Division opponents once to close the season (W vs PHX, L @ SJS, L @ VAN, SOL @ CGY, W @ EDM, vs ANA). The Kings are 16-10-2 against the Pacific Division.

-The Kings have completed two full games without taking a penalty. The last penalty recorded by Los Angeles was Jonathan Quick’s third period unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Saturday in Vancouver. They have gone 126:23 without having recorded any penalty minutes.

-Anze Kopitar scored his 200th career goal. He has 25 points (11-14=25) in the last 24 games. He moved past Bernie Nicholls for sole possession of 11th place on the club’s all-time games played list.

-With two goals and an assist against Edmonton, Marian Gaborik has 11 points (3-8=11) in his last nine games.

-Mike Richards has gone 21 games without recording an assist and has been held scoreless in the last eight games.

-The Kings attempted 81 shots (48 on goal, 20 blocked, 13 missed). The Oilers attempted 39 shots (17 on goal, 12 blocked, 10 missed). Justin Williams (six shots), Marian Gaborik (five shots) and Trevor Lewis (five shots) led the team in shots on goal.

-Justin Williams has 19 shots on goal over the last three games.

-The Kings won 28-of-50 faceoffs. Among regular performers, Mike Richards won 6-of-8, Anze Kopitar won 8-of-18, Trevor Lewis won 3-of-7. Jarret Stoll won 9-of-13 and Jeff Carter won 2-of-4.
