No clear indication of Doughty’s return

Though Drew Doughty took part in line rushes, he did not remain on the ice for the full practice and declined to speak with reporters during the team’s post-practice media availability. With a playoff spot and the third seed locked up, and games that don’t have any bearing on the team’s standing approaching, it remains to be seen when Doughty’s return to the Kings’ lineup will take place.

When asked whether it was an encouraging step forward to have Doughty take the ice for practice, Darryl Sutter’s response was brief.

“Yep,” the coach answered.

The Kings conclude the season with a back-to-back set in Calgary and Edmonton on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by Saturday’s regular season finale at home against Anaheim.
