April 5 postgame quotes: Marian Gaborik

On Alexander Edler’s interference non-call:
Well I chipped it in, I tried to go by him. I chipped it soon enough for I think it was interference, but I didn’t see the replay, I can’t tell. But I think I chipped it in and a couple seconds later I guess he stepped up. I didn’t see the replay so you guys are probably a better judge of that. [Reporter: Was the team even thinking about the non-call after that?] No, we just went back to work and it’s too bad in the third period again.

On having surrendered recent third period leads:
We just have to bear down. Obviously we had three penalties in the third period. They scored on one of them and we can’t have break downs in our zone. We just have to make sure it doesn’t happen. We’re heading into the playoffs, so these games, these situations can cost us big. We have to figure it out and make sure that we bear down and we’re strong on pucks in front of our net and be on top of our game.

On having difficulty matching a “desperate” team’s intensity:
We were talking about it, we just have to play our game and get ready for the playoffs. Obviously we’re stuck in that third spot there. I think we played pretty good in the first and we just have to play our game and we can’t have those things – I don’t know, our third or fourth time – heading into the third period with a lead and we blew it. We just have to clear that from our game.
