March 24 postgame quotes: Darryl Sutter

On scoring after the team weathered the call on Carter and killed a 5-on-3:
Tough rink, and we got the short end of the call, as you said. You know what? They scored a goal to start the third. We played a good road game.

On reclaiming the lead after Philadelphia tied the game:
It’s pretty consistent with what all the good teams in the league do. Games are close, and once in a while you get a goal scored on you.

On how the win in Philadelphia could provide the Kings a boost:
Not really worried about our opponent. We need the points, just like they do. We knew we were coming into a tough place and played good.

On using use the train ride to enjoy the win and getting back to work in Washington:
Yep. What’s the difference? If we take the train or the plane or drive, we’re going to be there in two and a half hours, right? [Reporter: Back to the ‘I’m not a philosopher, I just want wins?’] Hey, it sounds crazy, but we’re just trying to make the playoffs. We’re not going to catch teams that are up there. We’re just trying to keep where we are. So, same thing as them. Hey, the Flyers have a chance to still finish second.

On whether limiting shots in an emotional game represented a playoff style of hockey:
We’re playing Philadelphia, and we played a game in our building against them where the shots were the very same, and they scored a power play goal that night, and we didn’t.
