March 3 postgame quotes: Jonathan Quick

On the team’s collective feeling of having under 20 games remaining in the season:
I mean, honestly, you’d like to think you don’t approach anything than you do games in October, you know? You’d like to think that you go into every game with the same amount of urgency, because all the games, they count the same. They’re all worth two points. Obviously you’re closer to that time of the year. You’re kind of seeing where teams are starting to settle in as far as position-wise. Everyone’s selfish. Everybody wants to jump a spot or two. I think that’s more what it is. Not that guys are putting more emphasis on these games in particular, but more so you see where you are in the standings, and everyone’s kind of making that push.

On the game being a “fun game to watch” and an “old time hockey game”:
I don’t know if I’d say that. I think at times it was a little slow. But I thought we carried the game for the most part. We spent the majority of the time in their end. Guys didn’t get rewarded for their work. We had a few periods in the game where we had an extended amount of time in their end and created opportunities and hit posts, or whatever happened. So because of that, it’s a situation where it’s a 2-1 game late, and they still had their chance. But I thought we played great. I thought we played a great game. The power play was great. They created a lot of opportunities. The PK was great. They didn’t give ‘em many opportunities. It was the type of game you want to play, so it was good to get the two points.
