On outscoring opponents 5-0 in third periods since the Olympic break:
You’ve got to be good in the third to win games. That’s probably a no-brainer. We got the lead – either tied or got the lead – and we just find a way to push through and get that go-ahead goal, and then shut it down. Most importantly, try and push for the next goal and stay on our toes and not sit back and let them come at us I think is the most important thing.
On a deflection leading to the only goal against in a tight defensive performance:
It was in a way a fluky goal. I’m sure there some mistakes out there, but it goes off Brownie’s stick and it goes off of Reggie’s shoulder, I think. So I guess we’ll give that one up. But Quickie played great. He made some big saves when we needed him to when it was one-one, and that’s what we need this time of year from him and Jonesy, so we got that and we found a way to get the second goal.
On what has been different during the winning streak:
Capitalizing on opportunities, most of ‘em. Just finding a way, locking it down a little bit more defensively, getting back to our defensive structure and working hard as a five-man group. Any time you look at the screen, if we’re loking at video or watching our game, we want to see five guys as part of the screen and six in our zone with our goalie, so I think we’re doing that a little bit better.
