Greene “feeling better,” not skating yet

Though Matt Greene is not yet cleared to skate in his attempt to return from an injury suffered in the Los Angeles-Vancouver game on January 13, he has begun working out and is “feeling better,” according to Kings Assistant General Manager Rob Blake.

Darryl Sutter, who confirmed that the injury is a concussion, also spoke about Greene’s status following Tuesday’ 5-3 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

“I haven’t talked to Matt Greene, quite honest. When we left, he had a concussion. We don’t have anything to do with that. I think that’s trainers, and not even that – it has to do with the neuropsych and all that,” Sutter said.

“There’s a long ways to go before a guy can get cleared.”

Greene did not return to the game against the Canucks following a second period fight with Kevin Bieksa.
