January 16 postgame quotes: Trevor Lewis

On what it means to have a two-goal game:
Well I think as a team, that was a big game for us. We’ve each won one this year and that was the final time we’ll see them, until if we see them in the playoffs. But that was big for us, to come in here and get a big win. It’s a big win.

On how they approached the third period:
I think after the second, we kind of needed to re-focus and come out like we did in the first and be hard on them and get on the forecheck and stuff. I think we did a better job at that, caused a little bit more turnovers.

On his shorthanded goal:
It was kind of off the draw. They got four guys up so I knew what Dewey was doing and I obviously knew I could beat that D, but when I was coming down I could see that he was close to the goal line. So I knew that if there was any sort of kind of bounce he couldn’t play it. So I just went after it and got a little lucky that it bounced over him. I’ll take it though.

On how it feels to score his first two goals of the season:
It feels great. It’s been a little while so hopefully I can just keep going here.
