Greene being evaluated for a concussion

Five fighting majors were issued during last night’s game between the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks, and one of them may have taken a toll on Los Angeles defenseman Matt Greene.

LA Kings Insider learned on Tuesday that Greene, who did not return to the game after his fight with Kevin Bieksa at 8:28 of the second period, is “being evaluated” for a concussion, as learned through a reliable source.

That Greene may have suffered a concussion was also reported by The Fourth Period’s Dennis Bernstein and Frozen Royalty’s Gann Matsuda after the game.

Greene, who logged 5:03 of ice time, was playing in his first game since January 2. The 6-foot-3, 232 pound defenseman has totaled five points (2-3=5), 35 penalty minutes and a plus-7 rating in 25 games this season.
