VIDEO: Paul Smith, 100, drops ceremonial first puck

In case you missed last night’s ceremonial puck drop, 100-year-old World War II veteran Paul Smith, a season ticket holder since 1972, dropped the ceremonial first puck and shook hands with captains Dustin Brown and Henrik Zetterberg. A stirring ovation followed Smith onto the ice by the sold out STAPLES Center crowd, which featured a large contingent of Red Wings fans.

The LAKI community is part of a much larger Kings community. Do any of you sit near Paul at home games? Have you ever spent time with him or his family watching the Kings? If you’re friendly or familiar with him, feel free to share your memories and interactions with the great grandfather of all Kings fans in the comments section.
