January 11 postgame notes

-With the loss, the Kings fell to 81-79-31 all-time against the Red Wings, which includes a home record of 47-34-15.

-The Kings fell to 8-2-1 against the Atlantic Division and 13-3-2 against the Eastern Conference. The regulation loss snapped a 12 game point streak (10-0-2) against eastern teams.

-The Kings fell to 13-4-3 in their last 20 home games and 20-5-3 when scoring first.

-In their last four games (2-1-1), the Kings have out-shot opponents 169-93 for an average of 42-23.

– Since scoring in Los Angeles’ 3-2 overtime win at Vancouver on November 25, Mike Richards has gone 21 consecutive games without scoring a goal. He has two points (0-2=2) over the last 14 games.

-Tyler Toffoli has been held without a point for 10 consecutive games.

-Jeff Carter played in his 600th career game and 100th game with the Kings. He has 28 shots in the last four games.

-With a minus-2 rating, Alec Martinez was a minus player for the first time since November 30. He was a plus-10 over 15 consecutive non-minus games.

-Jarret Stoll has won 53-of-75 faceoffs (70.7%) over his last four games.

-Mike Richards accounted for eight shots on goal, the most he had registered in a regular season game since March 29, 2008, when he took 11 shots in a 4-3 shootout win over the New York Islanders while with Philadelphia. The eight shots represented his Los Angeles high.

-The Kings won 45-of-65 faceoffs (69%). Among regular performers, Mike Richards won 7-of-9, Anze Kopitar won 9-of-15, Trevor Lewis won 2-of-3, Colin Fraser won 2-of-3, Jarret Stoll won 13-of-20, and Jeff Carter won 12-of-15.

The Kings are scheduled to practice at 11:00 a.m. at Toyota Sports Center on Sunday, January 12.
