Vey, Jones named to AHL All-Star Game

Manchester Monarchs center Linden Vey and goaltender Martin Jones were named to the 2014 American Hockey League All-Star Game, which will feature a new format as a collection of 20 players will face off against Swedish Hockey League team Färjestad BK on February 12 in St. John’s, NL. Färjestad currently sits in seventh place in the 12-team SHL, 28 points behind first place Skellefteå AIK. Previous formats had pitted Eastern Conference all-stars against Western Conference all-stars, making this year’s event more exclusive.

Jones previously represented the Monarchs in the 2011 AHL All-Star Game, stopping 15-of-19 shots in an 11-8 Eastern Conference win at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA. Slava Voynov recorded an assist in the win.

This is Vey’s first AHL All-Star Game appearance.
