January 9 postgame quotes: Justin Williams
On the 4-2 win:
I thought we were very assertive tonight. I thought we obviously got out to a lead, scored a big power play goal. There were a lot of aspects to the game that were important, and we did a lot of them well tonight, and when their push came at us, we had a response. That’s a good team over there that we beat, and we’re happy about it.
On his power play goal:
Just the way their forecheck goes, they interchange their wingers. One on the wall, and the one from the middle goes to the wall. So I’ve got to step on that guy and call for the puck, and Slava made a great pass to me, and I was able to get a shot off.
On playing 800 games and reaching multiple milestones this season:
It seems like I’m fooling a lot of people. Obviously some things I’m going to look back and be proud of, but I said for the couple other milestones, I plan on contributing to those totals as the years go by.
On scoring four goals for the first time since December 19:
Yeah, it feels good. [Reporter: Is it a matter of catching chances, or are you guys doing this better and different now?} I don’t know. Sometimes things have a way of evening out. We scored one on 50 shots last game. You know, it’s kind of justice we scored four tonight. We scored a power play goal, a faceoff goal, so little things like that tend to be the difference.
