January 2 postgame notes

-With the loss, the Kings fell to 70-95-24 all-time against the Blues, which includes a road record of 25-58-11. Los Angeles’ five game winning streak against St. Louis was snapped. The teams will conclude their season series two weeks from tonight at Scottrade Center.

-The Kings have lost five straight games for the first time since December 3-13, 2011.

-The Kings were shut out for the third time in 2013-14.

-The last time the Kings lost by at least five goals was an 8-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on December 17, 2011.

-The Kings allowed five goals for only the fourth time this season (October 4, 5-3 L @ WPG; October 15, 5-1 L @TBL; December 23, 5-3 L vs DAL).

-The Kings are 5-8-1 against the Central Division and 20-5-3 against all other teams.

-The Kings’ penalty kill has allowed eight goals in the last 26 shorthanded situations.

-Dustin Brown has one goal, one assist and is a minus-1 in his last 11 games. Other than the December 19 game against San Jose in which he drew a game misconduct, his 13:04 of ice time was a season-low.

-Matt Greene’s 11:29 of ice time was his lowest total since logging 6:43 in 5-0 win at Detroit on December 13, 2010, a game he left early due to injury.

-The Blues were credited with 24 blocked shots, led by Ian Cole’s nine. The Kings were credited with eight blocked shots, led by Drew Doughty’s three.

-Jarret Stoll and Willie Mitchell tied for the team lead in shots with four.

-Tyler Toffoli attempted 10 shots. Two shots were on goal, seven were blocked, and one missed the net.

-Matt Frattin received 5:04 of power play time.

-The Kings won 24-of-56 faceoffs (43%). Among regular performers, Mike Richards won 4-of-14, Anze Kopitar won 11-of-16, Trevor Lewis won 2-of-8, Jarret Stoll won 7-of-15, and Jeff Carter won 0-of-3.
