December 30 postgame notes

-With the loss, the Kings fell to 77-83-22 all-time against the Blackhawks, which includes a record of 37-45-11 in Chicago.

-The Kings are 5-6-1 against the Central Division and 20-5-3 against all other teams.

-The Kings have lost three consecutive games in regulation for the first time since losing five straight in regulation from December 3 – 13, 2011.

-The last game in which Los Angeles earned more power plays than their opponent was on December 7, a 3-0 win over the New York Islanders.

-The Kings were shut out for the second time this season. Their other shutout loss was a 1-0 overtime defeat to Colorado on November 23.

-The Kings are now 16-for-52 all-time in penalty shots.

-Martin Jones has allowed zero or one goals in six of his 10 starts.

-Patrick Kane’s career-high 14-game point streak was snapped.

-Of the Kings’ 49 total shot attempts, 26 were on goal, 13 were blocked and 10 missed the net. Of the Blackhawks’ 45 total shot attempts, 30 were on goal, eight were blocked and seven missed the net.

-Los Angeles was credited with 45 hits, with Matt Greene finishing with a team-high seven. Chicago was credited with 30 hits, with Andrew Shaw finishing with a game-high nine.

-The Kings won 27-of-68 faceoffs (40%). Of regular performers, Mike Richards won 5-of-9, Anze Kopitar won 9-of-23, Colin Fraser won 2-of-9, Jarret Stoll won 5-of-13 and Jeff Carter won 6-of-13.
