Fraser, no Mitchell, at Kings practice

The Los Angeles Kings are practicing for the first time since they arrived back in Los Angeles shortly after midnight last night.

Willie Mitchell is not on the ice with the team. After missing last night’s game with an illness, Darryl Sutter joked with Helene Elliott, telling the LA Times reporter that “afternoon games are hard on those old guys.”

Colin Fraser is participating in practice after missing two games with an upper body injury believed to be a concussion. After Sutter noted that he was following “protocol” when missing practice in suburban Toronto on Thursday, Fraser skated at the United Center Sunday morning before taking part in line rushes this morning. The last player to take the ice, his presence was greeted with a loud cheer, stick taps, and calls of “Fras” from his teammates.

Forward line rushes at today’s practice:

King – Kopitar – Carter
Brown – Stoll – Williams
Lewis – Richards – Frattin
Clifford – Vey – Nolan
Carcilo – Fraser – Toffoli
