December 14 postgame quotes: Anze Kopitar

On factors leading to the team’s six game winning streak:
I think it’s a combination. Obviously our goaltending has been spectacular, and on top of that, we’ve managed to score a few goals for them, too, to make it a little bit easier on them. I think it’s just playing a solid game, pretty solid defensively. It sounds boring, but if you play good defensively, you’re going to get your offensive chances. I guess we did score a power play goal in three straight now, too, so that helps.

On facing the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday:
We know what we’re getting in to. We’ve played them enough over the last couple years [and] last year in the playoffs, so it’s going to be a fun game.

On whether there’s an added perk that he, Drew, and the team have been playing well in eastern cities, which leads to added recognition:
No. I’ve known Drew enough that he doesn’t care about that too much. We came here and took care of business. We got the six points out of a possible six, and that’s the most important thing. At the end of the day, I don’t think it matters too much what you do and how you’re doing it as long as you get in the end, and in the end [is what] counts to make the playoffs.

On playing with Dwight King and Jeff Carter:
We looked a little better. I guess you do need a couple games just to get used to each other. We had a pretty good start in Montreal. Maybe not the strongest game in Toronto, but tonight we had a pretty strong game, and we’re going to have to do that again tomorrow night.
