December 11 postgame quotes: Martin Jones

On starting back-to-back games:
It’s fine. I played a lot of games in the American league. We play three-and-threes down there. Obviously, it’s a little different with the pace and the intensity of the games. It’s something that I’ve dealt with, playing back-to-back nights so I felt pretty good out there.

On the great start to his NHL career:
Again, I try not to think about that too much. Just make sure that I’m ready when I’m called upon. Just try and give these guys a chance to win, we have a great team here. It’s not like I’m getting called upon to steal games here. It’s give these guys a chance to win, a couple big saves here and there, and these guys are playing great. [Reporter: Are you having fun?] Yeah, I’m trying to enjoy it as well. I want to make sure I’m ready to play whenever I’m called upon, but try and enjoy it a little bit as well.

On playing in Montreal and Toronto back-to-back:
Those were easy games to get up for, for sure.

On his favorite team growing up:
I’m from Vancouver, so the Canucks a little bit. It’s fun playing all these teams you watched growing up.

On facing the Toronto offense:
I probably had more work than the last few nights. Again, in front of the net, our guys doing a great job taking away second opportunities. It’s those couple saves that we need to get and the guys are doing the rest for sure.

On his pad saves on Nikolai Kulemin in the first period:
I just remember seeing him creep in to the middle there and I wanted to respect the shot there obviously. I saw him coming in so I was able to get a little shift across and get the pad out.
