Clifford activated; Lewis to IR

The Kings made a roster move in advance of Saturday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche, activating Kyle Clifford from injured reserve while placing Trevor Lewis on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

Clifford, who had missed six games with what was suspected as a concussion, should be expected to play tonight against Colorado. He has one goal and 32 penalty minutes in 16 games this season.

It is unclear where the injury to Lewis occurred, though Eric Gelinas of the Devils was credited with a hit on Lewis with 3:44 remaining in the second period, and Steve Bernier was credited with a hit on Lewis with seven seconds remaining in the third period, according to the official game log.

Lewis, who played a season-low 10:22 in Thursday’s overtime loss, has been held without a point in 23 games this season.
