November 17 postgame quotes: Ben Scrivens

On the Rangers disallowed goal:
It was a good way to seal the win for us in the last couple of minutes. It was a good battle in front. Tied up their stick, and I guess all he had left was his feet to work with.

On the road trip:
However you get to win. I guess we don’t care if we win 7-6. I don’t imagine Darryl would be too happy with it, but the wins are the biggest thing. Obviously fortunate and great for us that we got them, but you are always trying to improve and there is stuff we can improve on. We just got to get back to L.A. now, a couple home games, sleep in our own beds a little bit and try to continue this.

On having success on an East coast trip:
I don’t look into the stats that much. We approach it one game at time. So we don’t look at it as ‘We’ve got to go 3-1-1,’ or whatever it is.’ We try and win each and every game. We started off in Buffalo, tried to win that one. Didn’t think too much about the next one and just continued that mindset going forward.

On what he has learned from Jonathan Quick:
He’s a phenomenal goalie. He’s battled tested – a cup winner, a Conn Smythe winner- watching the way he prepared when he played a lot early on in the season. He is a great guy in the room, a great competitor on the ice and a great goaltender. It was fortunate for me, I got to take a lot from him. And I look forward to him coming back and learning a lot more when he is back on the ice.
