-With the win, the Kings improved to 43-42-13 all-time against the Islanders, including a record of 19-25-6 at Nassau Coliseum. Los Angeles is 7-1-1 in the teams’ last eight meetings, dating back to October 10, 2006.

-The Kings were outshot for only the third time in 19 games.

-Tyler Toffoli has points in all five games and seven points total (3-4=7) since being recalled

-Anze Kopitar has seven points (3-4=7) in the last six games and 13 points (4-9=13) in the last 11 games.

-Mike Richards’ five-game point streak was snapped.

-Matt Frattin played in his 100th career game.

-Dwight King played in his 99th career game.

-Including playoffs, the Kings are 24-7-2 in the last 33 games Alec Martinez has dressed.

-The line of Brock Nelson, John Tavares and Kyle Okposo received 6:21 of power play time. Robyn Regehr and Slava Voynov logged 6:21 of penalty killing time. These numbers are due heavily in part to Los Angeles penalties that spanned the first and second intermissions.

-By playing in his 541st career game, Anze Kopitar tied Sean O’Donnell for 14th place on the team’s all-time list.

-Slava Voynov was credited with seven giveaways. No other player on either team was credited with more than three.

-Of seven shots that Drew Doughty attempted, one was on net, four were blocked, and two missed the net.

-Robyn Regehr led the Kings with six hits. Matt Martin, who led the NHL in hits in 2011-12 and 2012-13 and currently leads the NHL in hits in 2013-14, led the Islanders with six hits.

-Amongst recently recalled players, Tanner Pearson logged 9:33, Linden Vey logged 15:04 and Tyler Toffoli logged 13:02.

-The Kings won 31-of-53 faceoffs. Among regular performers, Mike Richards won 6-of-11, Anze Kopitar won 14-of-24, Trevor Lewis won 3-of-3, Colin Fraser won 5-of-6 and Linden Vey won 3-of-8.

-Colin Fraser has won 40-of-65 faceoffs this season (61.5%).

Jake Muzzin

Muzzin was drafted in 2007 by the Pittsburgh Penguins, before signing to the Kings in 2010. He has since become the first Woodstock, Ontario professional athlete to win a major sports trophy.

Anze Kopitar

As the 11th overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Kopitar became the first Slovenian to play in the NHL. Kopitar has spent his entire NHL career with the Kings, and following the 2015–16 season, was named the Kings’ captain. Noted for both his offensive and defensive play, Kopitar was awarded the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the best defensive forward in the NHL in 2016.

Drew Doughty

Bio: Doughty is a Canadian defenceman who was selected second overall by the Kings in the 2008 Draft. Doughty made his NHL debut in 2008 as an 18-year-old and was named to the All-Rookie Team. He is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Kings, a two-time Olympic gold medallist with the Canadian national team, and a Norris Trophy finalist.

Tyler Toffoli

Toffoli is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward, drafted by the Kings in the second round of the 2010 Draft. Toffoli scored his first career NHL goal in his second game in a 4–0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes in 2013. He was also named the 2012–13 AHL All-Rookie Team.

Jeff Carter

Carter began his hockey career playing in the Ontario Hockey League in Canada before joining the AHL and playing for the Philadelphia Flyers. He was then traded to the Colombus Blue jackets before joining the LA Kings in 2012, where he has since won two Stanley Cups with the Kings.

Jonathan Quick

Bio: Quick is the current goaltender for the LA Kings and was selected by Los Angeles at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Previously, Quick was a silver medalist with USA at the 2010 Winter Olympics. He’s won two Stanley Cup championships with the Kings, along with being the most recent goaltender to be awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs.
