On getting his first NHL point:
It was just an odd man rush and the guy challenged me and I was able to get behind him and pass in the lane and [Nolan] had a good finish on the play.
On how comfortable he feels after his second NHL game:
Yeah I am. Every shift, every game I feel a lot better. It was good to get the win, especially with the rivalry between the teams over the last couple years and it was an intense game and it was good to come away with the win.
On how it felt to play in a Hockey Night in Canada game:
You just feel the intensity in the in arena, the atmosphere. The fans were great tonight. They’re another man for us out there and it was good to get the win.
On the team winning both games he has played in:
Yeah, I guess it’s kind of a little bit of a coincidence, I guess. Two games under the belt, two wins, so it’s good to start it well off like that.
On what he and Toffoli bring to the team:
I think that is your job. I think you come up and you got to bring something to the table. I think Toff and I bring a little bit of energy and a little bit of excitement obviously when you’re new to the league. So we got a lot of excitement coming into the game. We just need to keep rolling and hopefully get a few more wins on the road.
