Good morning, Nashville

Good morning Music City, and good morning beautiful new hotel that was under construction when we were here in February.

We’re adjacent to the Country Music Hall of Fame, which recently underwent a significant expansion and renovation that was capped off with the unveiling of the Taylor Swift Education Center – there’s something bizarrely hilarious about that name – three days ago. A small sliver of Bridgestone Arena can be seen peeking through to the left of what appears to be a giant black box sitting in the foreground of the picture.

Because of the proximity of the arena, restaurants, nightlife and country music bars and saloons – and Tootsie’s – to the hotel cluster in the heart of the city, Nashville remains a favorite stop amongst National Hockey League teams.

The Kings have the day off today, but there will still be consistent coverage on LAKI. I’ll be taking up much of the morning re-wording and adding to my LAKings.com feature, which focuses on the balance of power in the Western Conference. Once that’s completed, I’ll get to work on Waking Up with the Kings, which should be sent in an hour or two later than it generally is. Expect several more stories in the afternoon.

Thanks again for reading LA Kings Insider this morning, and enjoy the view of the Nashville skyline as seen from the fifth floor of the team hotel:
