The Los Angeles Kings will open the 82-game 2013-14 NHL regular season on Thursday, Oct. 3 at Minnesota. The Kings Home Opener at STAPLES Center is set for Monday, Oct. 7 vs. the New York Rangers. Among other schedule highlights is the Kings-Ducks outdoor game at Dodger Stadium on Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m. as part of the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series.
Of the 82 regular season games, 29 will be played in the Kings’ own division (Pacific Division), 21 will be played in the other Western Conference division (Central Division) and 16 will be played against Eastern Conference teams (Metropolitan Division and Atlantic Division).
In the Pacific Division, the Kings will play Anaheim, Calgary, Phoenix, San Jose and Vancouver five times and Edmonton four times. The longest homestand of the season is five games (Jan. 4 to Jan. 13 and March 13 to March 22). The longest road trip of the season is five games (Jan. 16 to Jan. 23).
The Kings are also slated to play 14 sets of back-to-backs (Oct. 3-4, Oct. 29-30, Nov. 14-15, Dec. 2-3, Dec. 10-11, Dec. 14-15, Dec. 30-31, Jan. 20-21, Jan. 27-28, Feb. 26-27, March 9-10, March 24-25, April 2-3 and April 9-10). Last season the Kings sold out STAPLES Center all 24 regular season home dates – and all nine postseason home dates – in what was a record-setting year at the Box Office. The Kings’ average attendance in the regular season in 2012-13 was a club record 18,179. Dating back to 2011-12, the Kings have sold out 50 straight regular season home games. Including playoffs, that streak is 68 consecutive home games. For all Kings ticket information, call 1-888-KINGS-LA (1-888-54647-52) and click here.
