Two More Years For Alec Martinez

The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms on a new two-year contract with defenseman Alec Martinez, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Martinez, who turns 26 years old on July 26, appeared in 27 games for the Kings this past season, recording five points (1-4=5) and 10 penalty minutes. Martinez also played in seven of the Kings’ 18 postseason games, recording two assists and eight penalty minutes.

Martinez has played his entire four-year NHL career with the Kings, appearing in 142 regular season contests (12-21=33) and 38 penalty minutes plus 33 postseason games. The 6-1, 206-pound native of Rochester Hills, Michigan, was originally selected by the Kings in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
