One year ago tonight…

After 45 years of championship deprivation, Kings fans exploded in bedlam inside Staples Center during the first period of Game 6 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Final one year ago tonight. In a lopsided game iced by an empty netter (and a late Matt Greene goal), the Kings’ storybook end to the season provided the two-and-a-half-hour opportunity for fans to therapeutically discharge their emotions in triumphant company as the Cup was won on home ice for the first time since 2007.
